Android Phone, Tablet, TV Box and Android TV
The most forgiving platform of the lot. The same file installs on a handset, a tablet and a television box, and the settings that matter are all in one screen.
Before you start
- An Android device running version 5.0 or newer
- Your login details to hand
Download the installer
Open our Apps page in the device browser and download the Android file. On a television box, using Downloader with our code is far less painful than typing a web address with a remote control.
Approve the install once
Android asks whether to allow installs from your browser or from Downloader. Approve it. The permission applies only to that one app and you can switch it back off afterwards if you would rather.
Sign in with Xtream or paste an M3U link
Launch the app and choose the Xtream Codes option, then enter the server, username and password from your account. If you prefer a single field, paste your M3U link instead. Xtream is worth preferring because the app builds a proper guide from it.
Turn on hardware decoding
In the player settings, switch hardware decoding on if the device supports it. On cheaper boxes this is the difference between smooth playback and a stutter you will spend a week wrongly blaming on your broadband.
Worth knowing before you start
- On a phone or tablet, watch in landscape with rotation unlocked. Some players behave oddly when they are forced into portrait.
- On a television box, plug in an Ethernet cable if there is a socket. Wireless is the usual culprit when one box stutters and another in the same house does not.
- A channel that plays with no sound is almost always an audio decoder mismatch. Change the decoder in settings before you contact us.
