Six devices. None of them take an evening.
Each guide is written the way we would say it on the phone, with the awkward step called out rather than glossed over. If you are still deciding whether to buy, these also tell you honestly how much work you are signing up for.
Amazon Fire TV Stick
The device most of our customers already have plugged into the television. The only awkward step is the very first one, and it is awkward on every service, not just this one.
About 5 minutesAndroidAndroid Phone, Tablet, TV Box and Android TV
The most forgiving platform of the lot. The same file installs on a handset, a tablet and a television box, and the settings that matter are all in one screen.
About 4 minutesSmart TVSamsung and LG Smart TV
Nothing to sideload. Both Tizen and webOS carry suitable players in their own stores, and the whole job is done with the television remote.
About 6 minutesMAG boxMAG and Formuler Box
The least fiddly setup here. The box identifies itself by MAC address, so there is no username, no password and nothing to mistype.
About 3 minutesWindowsWindows PC and Laptop
Not many people watch on a laptop, but everybody should set one up anyway. It is the fastest way to prove whether a fault is the line or the television device.
About 4 minutesiPhone & iPadiPhone, iPad and Apple TV
Apple does not permit sideloading, so the arrangement is different: you use a player from the App Store and hand it your details. It works well once it is set up.
About 4 minutesFour things that apply whatever you own
Most setup problems are one of these four, and all four are quicker to check than they are to describe in a support message.
- Copy and paste your details. Typing a long password with a remote control is where the majority of failed sign-ins begin.
- Let the first load finish. The full list and guide take a couple of minutes on modest hardware, and restarting the app halfway is how a slow load becomes a broken one.
- Use a cable if there is a socket. Wired beats wireless by a wider margin than any broadband upgrade you could buy.
- Test several groups, not just the first. A line can look perfect at the top of the list and disappoint three groups down.
Device not on the list?
If it runs an app that reads Xtream Codes or an M3U link, it will work. That covers nearly everything with a screen. Ask us before you buy rather than after, tell us exactly what you have, and you will get a straight yes or no.
